Do yall think this is sufficient edge protection on my panel or should I have something with a little more substance along the edge?
Its just plain old rubber channel from Aircraft Spruce run along the edge. The bottom picture is a close-up of the channel I used.

Looks clean Ray, and will surly help stop a fore head cut, sit in the cockpit and see if your shoulder straps will prevent your nogen from contacting the panel after they are snugged up. I watched a Thorp fully stalled go belly first into the Tarmac, the landing gear spread out and this airframe took an impact I thought for sure would have killed the occupants of the plane and probably would have if the pilot would have not been well seasoned. The plane flew again a year later as did the occupants, they had there harnesses in order and I believe this played an important roll in both of em walking away without a scratch......Dan

Yes, I do have crow shoulder harness/seat belts so I wouldnt think my head would reach the glareshield in an unplanned event, but strange things tend to happen sometimes. I have decided to make a more blunt edge. Might as well do it, I'm in no time crunch to get this panel installed. I appreciate the response.

You can use a vinyl push on trim strip and then cover it with the rubber ? The vinyl trim has a metal core that grips the panel . I have it on my dash front and then cover the dash cover with heavy duty vinyl material . With just the rubber alone placed over the sharp metal edge I think an impact would "slice" thru the rubber .

You can see the material in this pic. I used it for edge dressing on my side panels . It is an automotive type trim material available is different widths and colors . I think the addition of the trim strip would help in protecting your precious knoodle ! O0

I wish. I have a Dynon D100 and D120. What you see is the D120.

I don't think Spruce has it ? It is an automotive type trim . "PVC edge trim (self gripping) ." Also "Push on Vinyl trim ." You can find it on line by the foot ,but the shipping may out weight the small length you need . I would check a local Auto Seat Upholestry shop for a cut off piece. I found mine at Keystone Brothers and got it by the foot . Check to see if they have an outlet near you ? If the color is not right you can buy a vinyl spray to match you interior . O0
