I have a King KT76A transponder, was able to get a deal on a Stratus EGR. This is the unit with a built in WASS GPS, got a great deal from Pacific Coast Avionics. With the FAA $500.00 rebate the unit will be just over $2,000.00, I am installing it myself (I have all the tools) I will post the results after install. If anyone needs a operating KT 76 A to get by for the interim for $250.00 I will have mine removed next week. Phil Albee 118BC |

I am doing the same upgrade this week. Replacing a Narco 155. I'll pass along any gotchas, looks pretty straight forward. Dave |

The Stratus EGR went in pretty easy, there are a bucket of grounds though, I installed a new ACK30 .9 at the same time to have a RS232 connection available if needed later. I did need to install a additional GPS antenna for the ADS-B WASS part of the setup. Put it on the turtle deck. I have powered up the units and set the parameter's, everything went smooth. All I need is to do the check flight. The used transponder package that came out has been sold. Thanks Phil |

Was able to do the ADS-B proof of operation flight last weekend, flew for a little over one hour with the required turns, headings and altitude changes in the mode C veil. Went to the web site later and got a clean flight report (no items highlighted in red) later that day received a second report with the incentive number. Took all of this with the original reservation number to a third web site (all of the websites are on the AOPA site including instructions and links)and was able to input all required info, (it took about 5 min's) and got a green light on the rebate. About one day later I received a email that my rebate was approved and I should receive a check in 4 to 6 weeks. Phil 118 BC |

Received $500.00 check yesterday from the FAA (think I am going to frame it ) It took just about a week from the time I submitted the final request on there website. I am happy with the process and now I don't have to use the Thorp as hanger art in 2020. Phil 118BC |
