Kiona Airpark, WN-55 is having an informal fly in with a burger feed starting at noon on Saturday 7-19-2014. Frequency: 122.9 This is a grass runway, 2500' long. The grass is dry and has some bare patches that make a T-18 rattle. Back taxi on the runway, the easements on the sides are soft, and uneven especially toward the east end both sides of the runway. You are welcome to park in my yard, by the West wind sock, or there will be parking assistance on frequency. There will be a brief memorial and plaque service for Bob Kay, dedicated Recreational Air Force member, Northwest Liaison who helped gain passage of the Recreational Use statute. Also the Kiona Airpark board treasurer, he was a big contributor to many projects like the mower shed and the new wind sock assemblies.
