I bought the "CLAW" at un n Fun this year. I had my plane tied down at SnF with dog type screws and they came out of the ground. The concensus from the RV guys after the SnF tornado was the claw held the best. All the Thorps where we were tied down had them as I was under my wing during the storm and they held fast.
The ground at Oshkosh is hard, bring dynamite!

Enjoyed meeting you guys at the OSH Lunch Wednesday! Really enjoyed the quality of the T-18's in attendance, the few, the proud, the clean!
Sorry I had to bug out early, was working at our Fly-4-Life tent. Thanks to B&J for stopping by and checking on me.
Looking forward to the Fall fly-in!

Smokey

I was right by you Bill, with my titanium corkscrew units. They obviously held alright, but I'm working on something new now.

The polished Thorp with the red tips was built by Ray Henning and is owned by Scott Ginn from Colorado Springs, CO, just one of the Ginn family fleet of Thorps. Congrats Scott on the award.

There were a number of claw tie downs at SnF that let go or broke during the tornado also.

Your Claw held because it did not want to endure the wrath of a full bird dressing down.......
