Les and Margie Conwell plan to attend in our retractible gear Thorp (as Lee called our flying machine). We hope to arrive on Thurs and leave Sunday---perhaps westbound to San Diego to visit our son there. We have our reservations all set at the "Thorp Group" motel. Thanks for your work, Lee---looking forward to seeing the group!!!

I had to make a hard decision and like Dan, I'm going to have to sit this one out. Two things... my daughter is due to have her first baby, and it's our 40th wedding anniversary that weekend. Vicki says I can go, but I just can't do it. I'll see some of you guys at OSH.

I have a room reservation for friday & saturday at the Super 8 for $80.85/night. I will call to cancel, & could probably transfer it to someone else - first come, first served.

You will be missed John, but certainly understandable. Looking forward to seeing you at Oshkosh.

To the rest of you guys see you in one week, some of you a day sooner.

A few reminders;

1.) Bring your tiedowns (just in case).
2.) When you arrive, pull into the mid field entrance to the ramp. Our parking will be to the left (north side of the ramp). I'll try to giude you guys in.
3.) It's going to be hot ... 90's in the day, 70's at night. Shorts are would be a good idea.
4.) Keep your eyes and ears open and monitor the CTAF (122.7) I suspect there will be quite a bit of activity in the area with our warbird friends arriving along with us.

Does anyone have any special requests?

Special Requests ? Yes...

1. A tub of refreshments... VERY cold on arrival. ;) Yes I will contribute $$$ to refill the tub ! Fraser I have you covered for the first hour ! ::)
2. A/C Limo to the Hotel.

Other than that I can fend for myself. I plan to arrive around 1100 hours on Friday ? Thanks Lee.

10-4 RB ... Would you believe there's a full bar on the field? Actually butts right up to the ramp ... But I'll see if I can get a supplementary cooler prepped as well.

I've arranged for a local shuttle service to run us back and forth to the airport ... No limo but it has A/C ;)

I just let my room go. I flew last night and the plane was running a little rough. I found #3 had no compression. I looked in the cylinder with a scope, and it looks like a burned piston. It's a bummer, but I am glad I caught it before friday.

Ok Gents ... one more day!

I'm headed out in the AM to T82. The forecast right now does not look good for our trio from FL but I'm not worried about them. To the rest it looks like the rain dance we've been doing has worked a little but do not be concerned. A 40% chance of rain in TX basically means the occasional isolated shower in the afternoon which will help cool things down.

Fly safe and see you either tomorrow or today.

Managed to make it to Hall Miller airport in Texas and had to turn around due to weather and ended up in Glimer Texas. Turns out one of the gentleman here is one of the T6 drivers (Steve Dean) headed to Fredericksburg (maybe we can formtion flight of 2....ok I can dream can't I). Anyway will wait a few more hours, if a no go will head in the morning.
I have my attorney with me to keep me out of trouble and answer any questions you might have for FREE! Ha.
