Alright Fellas ... ONE MONTH TO GO !

I just confirmed with Roy that we have the Nature Center reserved from 11:00 - 2:00 Friday July 30th. So write that down as the official time of the Thorp Forum/Lunch.

If I don't have any issues with fixing my brakes, I 'll be there.

The ground is cold at night, that's why I use an airbed.

I'll be there (camping) but won't be bringing the T-18 this year. I'm riding up in a DC-3, one of two that I help maintain at CGI. We are flying into Rock Falls Saturday, then into OSH Monday around noon. See you all there.

If the "marine" layer isn't hanging around I'm launching Sat AM from the left coast. As far as camping, NOT, I have a cousin with a house on the lake about 15 min from the field, that's where I'm staying. If not before, see you all on Fri at lunch.

I could use some more of the cold. The mosquitos have been thick with all the rain.

Why don't you come to Oshkosh and see for yourself? The lunch had about sixty people and a short forum. Brats were the fair and all had their share. Thanks to Gomer and Pat for their help on getting the food. I could not get an accurate account on Thorps. With the grounds wet, they were scattered. About 15 were sited including a Fletcher FU-25 (See link). By the way, it was for sale Fraze

Sigh...Point taken - She Who Eye Wership admonished my pathetic mood of last week and threatened divorce should I be absent Mecca next year.

I have finally recovered enough from my week at OSH to run a few numbers from my trip. Round trip from S36 (Crest Airpark near Seattle), a tad over 27 hours in the airplane and 198 gallons of go juice and approx 3300 miles of flying fun. I didn't have near the excitement that Lee had but my mode C decided it didn't want to work anymore and I had to contend with some weather on my way home to the point that it took an extra day. My motivation for doing the trip this year, my aircraft has been flying 40 years. Would I do it again? maybe, definitely for the Thorp 50th birthday party. The one downside to the week, I left my camera under a chair at one of the forums and it had not been turned in at lost and found by the time I left, so no photos from me this year.
