Did I miss this? I'm not coming to this web site on a regular basis, but wasn't this an annual gathering in Sept?

I believe Mike and Frankie Archer elected to not have PTV this year. As a replacement, Fraser had the West coast event at his local.

I wasn't aware of the trade-off with Utah. I had been planning to get to Porterville this year.

With all the T-18'ers in CA, we should still try to do one of our own gatherings. (But we're all getting old and need some youngsters to take on the get-togethers.)

Not sure if PTV was a change for this year only ? Cubes may have some info concerning the 2011 PTV Fly-In as he sees the Archer's on a somewhat regular basis as he continues to construct his Crotch Rocket. [:0]

Jack - the Utah fly-in was posted in this forum under "events", and Mike and Frankie posted it on their site as well - so far, there are no plans for us mountain sheep admirers and those left of us for next year. Cubes and Spanky hosted a fly-in last spring at VGT and only the Ginns showed. The commies east of us are winning the gathering attendance war!!! - time for the weed eaters of the west to step up.

I propose the famous Jack Kenton host a T-18 gathering at his home port next year. Name a date and I'll bet pinheads to Pelosis I'll be back in the air and there by then.

All in favor...???

This has been mentioned before but I'll do it again.

Mike has decided to sell Classic Sport Aircraft as he is retiring and getting out of the S-18 plans/kit business. With that being said I doubt there will be a PTV gathering in 2011. So you guys out in CA will have to do it the old school way, pick a date, pick a place and "gather" there.

On a related note, if anyone is interested in pursuing Classic Sport Aircraft as a business, contact Mike Archer

How about a Visalia (kvis) Thorp gathering? We thorpers need to show these RVrs what's up. Were a little outnumbered over here. Give me your thoughts.

I don't recall ever being on the ground at Visalia. I'm all for it. My home airport (Compton), in the L.A. metro area, is not located where one could find much in the way of "room and board" facilities.

And I apologize to everyone for my not realizing that Fraser's gathering was to be our West Coast event this past year. (I didn't realize that Mike had Frankie had a web site.)

I just asked Mike. There will not be a Thorp gathering at PTV this year. They are probably out of the fly-in business. I'm up for KVIS. In a related note, you may not know that Frankie had back surgery about 10 days ago. She is doing fine. She is as strong willed as ever. However, when Fred Denton (new kit purchaser) and I saw her on Monday, she looked pretty fragile.

KVIS works for me. As long as it does not involve the Tule Fog season. [:(] If someone in the local area wants to sponser a hoe-down (fly-in), I would be willing to fly up early to help out. [:p]
