When Van's introduced the RV-14 last month at OSH with an estimated completion cost of $70-80K, I wasn't surprised.
I walked the flight line to look at the RV14 with a Missionary Pilot friend who spent 9 years flying Cessna 185's in Indonesia. After seeing all the experimental airplanes on display including the Van's lineup his favorite was, you guessed it, the Thorp T-18. Why?
"It seems like something affordable I could build and fly on a family budget".

The T-18 still represents a large bang/buck ratio, even in our current economy it is an excellent value.
The fan base grows...

It's even a better bang/buck ratio when you can take the AC home !
