Has anyone checked the rates for the (2) Hotels across the street from the airport ? I am coming up with close to $400/nite for September ?
OH MY !

A wake up call from the front desk is as close to camping as I come ! I could be wrong about the rates , but I checked both hotels at the airport . I hope I am wrong ! RB

There is a aircraft / car show in Cameron Park airpark (o61) on Saturday September 30, 2017. It is titled "COPS and RODDARS" (the CHP puts it on) about 275 cars and airplanes show up, there is a link on Facebook. I have lots of room All are invited. For an additional alternate Columbia Ca. (where we flew to last year) has a great campground at the airport with showers and it is close to town for less then $10.00 a night. CNX my NOTAM regarding hotel rates at the KVIS airport . I must have been directed to some bogus site that gave me the inflated rates ? Looks like around $100/nite , maybe less with some sort of discount . However...I checked rooms available for the 3rd weekend in Sept. and a few remain at the Comfort Inn . Any word on a firm date so we can book Dan/Ira . No pressure , just as soon as you can come up with a date .  BOOM ! RB

I reserved a room at the Wyndham for Sept. 23. The Comfort inn next door was sold and had a bucket of bad reviews lately. Phil 118BC |

Hi All! The KVIS Gathering will officially take place on the weekend of Sept the 23rd this year. This is usually about the time we have it every year but I have a new place of employment now so details were just a bit harder for me to work out. I will be at the airport for the friday arrivals and the long range forcast is calling for 85 deg weather so we should be just fine. Home phone is 559-686-4588, if anyone needs some help. It appears the Comfort Inn at the airport was sold and is now becoming a "Best Western" , but based upon the latest Trip Advisor reviews it gets 1 star below the Roach Motel ! Not sure what happened to the place , but hopefully it gets straightened out . Got my room next door at the Wyndham . Military rate about $100/nite including taxes. Book now and book often ! While scratching would send up a flag , I think I would be a little concerned if you start licking various body parts ! Another option would be to go stand out in the cotton fields and let the crop duster make a pass ! RB
