Has anyone fabricated up a couple of rods to hold open the cowling halves when they are opened for inspection? If so, can you share how you did it? Thanks! Dean |

Attachment: Attachment: Attachment: I did what you are talking about . Some scrap alum. tubing . A couple of fittings to hold the gizmo in place . Assuming you have an enclosed pleminum all you need are the (3) fittings to hold the rod in the up and stowed position . A small pivot fitting which the alum. rod will rotate on . A spring type "squeeze" fitting to hold the rod in the up and stowed position and a small teat type fitting to place the end of the rod in to hold it in place . The hard part is the concealed hinge fittings that are attached to the upper part of the cowl and(2) pieces of hinge to attach the concealed hinge . I believe most of the parts are from McMaster-Carr . The hinges you will have to goggle for . It's been 10 years since I did this mod .
