approximately How long of a throttle cable (vernier) should I be looking at getting for the t-18? I am trying to keep my eyes open on ebay for a good deal and would like to strike when the right one comes up.

If you plan to fly formation, forget the vernier throttle. Since each installation is different, you need to measure your particlar setup.

Dean, I have a vernier throttle cable left over from when I changed my T-18 to left hand throttle and mixture control. I live in Tehachapi, reasonably close to Visalia. You can come by and look at my old cables. If they are useful to you, you can have them for your favorite price.

You will find that each application will be a little different, depending on throttle control location and type of engine/carburator. I was luky enough to have two old ends about a foot long , mocked up the ends and measured the the length. Final note, use only Cablecraft cables and not the cheap ones from Aircraft Spruce.

I have some vernier cables that I replaced on mine because of changing the location of the throttle and instrument panel. I would be willing to sell them pretty reasonably. I could measure them if you are interested. Contact me separate from the forum.
