I would consider a new valve. The strainer mesh size is a bit large and you will have a considerable amount of unsable fuel due to the length of the pipe above the bung pipe fitting. You will have a beautiful bird if you keep up with your current standards. Don't fall prey to using sub-standard parts. |

Bob I initially was going to replace the valve, then when I started looking at the many options and parts involved I thought I would take another look at the old valve, it may not look that pretty but the simplicity of it is hard to beat, then when I looked inside and found it looked good I thought a refresh of the seals might do the job. The mesh would get replaced. The pipe was put in to raise the strainer back up to the standard position as the tank has an added sump. |

I agree with Bob...mesh too large, pipe extension too long . Just replace the valve with a new one . RB ![]() |

Most boat dealers will have something like this (less the screen) |
