Any advice on where to purchase the longerons for the fuselage. A quick check on ACS and the shipping was as much as the material. Does anyone know of a better option? |

I've had good luck buying from Metalsupermarkets in Kent WA, I see the have a store in Indianapolis: http://metalsupermarkets.com/indianapolis-east/ Give them a call and see if they have what you want, and if it's not too far to drive. I usually buy shorts and cut-offs for small projects. I just made an air intake adapter for my fuel injection, using a foot of 4" O.D. tube and 6" of .190 6" flat stock for the flange. |

Scott, I'm always looking into new sources. The on line store you referenced only has 6061. Did you find 2024 thru them? Cubes |

They have 2024 there Cubes - I bought my 6061 baffling material from these guys, but saw the 2024 there as well, and just verified. |

Unfortunately it doesn't look like they carry any 2024 angle, Frase. Too bad... it would be nice to have a supplier that would sell with no minimums & have some of the extrusions that we need, and make it easy and available with a few mouse-clicks on the internet. Sounds like a good shop for a lot of other projects, other than longerons. |

I know everyone is well aware of them, but I try and use these folks. When they say they appreciate my business, I get the feeling they really mean it. https://www.airpartsinc.com/ |

Pretty much all of the sheet aluminum on my Thorp was purchased from Airparts, when Frank & Ethel were still living. Good people. |

Sorry about the 2024 angle shortage.. When Metal Supermarket doesn't have what I need, I call Metal Shorts, who buys left overs from contractors. They sell it retail, so they have cut-offs, and whole sticks & sheets, but what they have in house is always a guess. I call with my list and find out if they have it. I don't know about your area, but there must be a similar operation near every major city. |

Ditto on the good words for AirpartsInc. I was going to suggest them also. I bought all my sheet metal from there, the long actuator tube, and other things too. Les Krumel, Albuquerque |
