I enjoy my 0-290 fixed until I fly with a buddy in his rv-6 0-360 c/s, I end up at 2600rpm burning 10 gph. I would much rather have an 0-320 or even a 0-360. so it's a trade off, 2350=7.5gph or 2600=10+gph. Going to the Bahamas with a bunch or rv's in June and a 3 hr. flt. over H20, will need plenty of res. so thinking about an aux. tank. any ideas??

3 hours over water, that's covering a lot of ground (water)!

The nice thing about the Bahamas is that they're not far apart and not far away. You won't need aux tanks. The last time I flew to the Bahamas fuel was readily available. You shouldn't need to carry an aux tank. I'm sure the guys you are going with are already doing this but if not pick up the "Bahamas and Caribbean Pilot Guide" it covers everything you need to know including fuel. Once you add your bags and all of the survival gear you probably won't have any room for an aux tank anyhow.
