Time for 100/annual. Nice to be able to bring T18 home and to be able to work on it in a moments notice. Moving into winter now so nice to be able to have a hot drink at any time. I leave the wings in the hangar as not much to do on them and have never made any fittings on my trailer to take the wings. Tony Schischka ZK-VMS

Theres about 60 lb on the tow hitch. Tows straight as a die, have to watch you don't cut corners though as it has a long wheel base Tony Schischka ZK-VMS

Thanks, I thought maybe with the mains that close to the trailer wheels it might be okay. I know people (some of them really should have known better) who had tried to haul aircraft that way because it was easier to load but they had to turn the aircraft around before they made it 5 miles because they couldn't control it. They were all on standard utility trailers and car haulers which puts the bulk of the weight to far back.

Should you care to add wing supports/cradles to leave the wings on I have included a few pics of my set up that has worked well for 7 years . The bottom support for the wing is a piece of aluminum channel attached to the trailer . It supports both the wing AND the aileron . The outboard tube with the pip pin is 3/4 " alum tube with and AN fitting on the top for the pip pin . The tube is bolted to the channel and swings out of the way when moving the wing . I used the wing tie down fitting to attached the outboard tube and secure it with the pip pin . The inboard support is nothing more than 3/4" steel tubing attached at the bottom with bolts to swing out of the way so the horizontal stab can clear . To secure the support in the up right position another pip pin is attached at the bottom pivot point . A 1" ratchet strap is secured over the wing to snug up the whole operation . Trailer has been down the freeway at 55 mph with no problems (except the lookie loos !) You may need to move that freezer with the cadavers in it to make it fit ? RB
