I just have to tell this story because I liked it so much: I was out flying today, knocking down about 165 KTAS as usual in cruise (I'm sure others do better than that, but I'm happy with my wood prop and 165 KTAS in cruise). Anyway, the point of my story is that I was just starting to turn inbound on my practice IFR approach, and approach calls out to another airplane, "Cessna XZY, there's a Tiger at your 2 o'clock, 3100 feet, turn to heading XYZ." Then, a minute or two later, approach says, "Cessna 123, Tiger no factor, resume own navigation."

That's the first time I have heard my plane called a "Tiger" on the radio and I loved it! I wish they would call me that every time on the radio! As an aside, as always, I stay thrilled with the performance of these "Tigers."

So, Merry Christmas to all the Tigers out there!

Ya know how all the RV guys violate the refs an call themselves “RV xxx” instead of experimental? Well why don’t we make the call “experimental tiger xxx..”?
