Hi all. I know that there are a coupe of ways shown on the site to seal the flap actuator slots, but I cannot find them. Can anyone lend a hand?

Thanks a bunch!!

Not really necessary to seal the flap actuator slots but if you must ....

1.) I've seen a piece of this micarta on the tube itself that floats against the skin held in place by another piece of aluminum attached to the skin.
2.) Felt
3.) Brush-like material (similar to a drive selector in a car)

Come to think of it .. all 3 of these solutions mimic how the drive selector is 'sealed' in cars .. so maybe compare those. But honestly in the end it's pretty rare to see this slot sealed.

The issue is that the way the air flows, the openings allow exhaust gas into the cockpit, so I want to have a good seal to prevent this.

*BEST SOLUTION* I did not like any of the solutions found to seal the flap actuator slots to prevent exhaust gas and cold air from entering the cockpit, so came up with a new system. As can be seen in the pictures I used a $11 shifter boot that is available on Amazon (see link below.....works good for the sticks too), fitted if over the actuator arm on the inside, and used velcro to adhere it to the inside of the fuselage. The pics show it with the flaps full up and full down. No modifications to the boots are necessary. Works great!!

Great idea, Dean. I will install at annual next month. My Sensorcon CO monitor will tell me right away if the boots are helping.
(What do you MEAN do don't have an electronic CO monitor in your ship...!!!??? Please consider purchasing one if you don't, then mount it where you can see it 100 percent of the time. The dots are useless. Don't bet your life on a dot. Here's a Sensorcon for $99...you're welcome ;--)

What levels of Co are seen being recorded. Digital co meter. My T18 is 0 Co. But I'm working on a T18 with levels 60 to 90.
