Now that Fraser has spilled the beans I have to brag about his new airplane. N633PM was built by Parker Miller and was one of the early-early T-18's (Finished 1969). Some will remember that Bob Dial and Parker Miller were the spear heads in the metal prop testing way back when. In 1981 Parker brought the airplane down and rebuilt it from the ground up and upgraded to a CS prop and 9:1 pistons (160hp).

I have to say that this airplane performs incredibly! It's very light and shows! In comparison my airplane is probably 125 lbs heavier and although I love "red" she's not as "peppy" as this airplane by a long shot! Living proof that low weight is key with these airplanes. She literally leaps off the runway.

I've had the airplane for a couple of weeks now getting it all ship shape for Frase. Nothing stands out really just minor work; minor corrosion, brake system, electrical system, new gear fairings and an overall tiding up of the engine installation is about all it took. All in all this is a little gem of a T-18.

If the WX cooperates I'll heading out to Salt Lake next Thursday and will be posting a pic of Frase in his new bird late next week.

Oh how I wish I could, Scott - I'm still a paycheck slave - tho Cubes and I are planning on the hajj to OSH, where I can take a course or two to better my aircraft building, systems, and maintenance skills. Being thorpless really sucked, and I wish not to be in that position again.

True, but I make up for it in lighter than air gaseous buoyancy......
