I am happy to report that NX115RX had it's DAR airworthiness inspection today. [:D] ZERO discerpancies/write-ups were noted by the inspector. [;)] Tomorrow I go to the FSDO to get my repairmans certificate and will spend the rest of the week getting the A/C ready to trailer to Brown Field (KSDM) to begin taxi tests and test flights shortly after that. BADA BING, BADA BOOM ! [:p] Construction started Sept. 1984, last part manufactured 12 Dec. 2010.

Thanks. It was a long haul and the Navy did teach me "Attention to Detail !"

As a sidebar, I went to the FSDO this AM to get my repairmans certificate. As a faithful, obedient tax paying citizen I called the day before to ask what "pile" of paperwork I should bring. The answer over the phone..."Everything you have." I showed up at the appointed hour with my "pile" and entered the secure area of the FSDO. At the counter I was asked for a Drivers Licence and my repairmans application. The gal returned shortly with the tempo certificate and the inspector. After reviewing that the certificate was correct we both signed it and I left with my copy.

WTFrank OVER !!! [:(!] 27 years of maintaining a construction log with pictures and the FAA does not even look at one page of the log or one picture ! [V] Not to piss off the Sleeping Bear, I left with my well earned T-18 A & P license. Your FAA mileage may vary and remember the FAA moto..."We're not happy, until you're not happy !" [}:)]

Keep the log; the judges at OSH and LAL love them.

From one who can't, to one who did - the more prepared you are, the less likely you will be asked to prove your knowledge - when I applied for US citizenship and took the test, I sweated bullets for weeks and memorized the answer to every possible US history trivia question, only to be asked to name 3 of the 13 colonies. I got pissed and rattled off all 13 and then asked if he'd like to hear all 50 states, their capitals and state flowers - groucho the testor said, you'll do.
Congrats bud - I can hardly wait to fly off your wing.
