Does anyone have electronic copies of the articles published in Sport Aviation way back in the early days of the Thorp? In case I am wrong about the publication, I am referring to the series of articles which were published to show how to build a Thorp. I think John Thorp wrote them, but not sure.

Ryan,

You can read them here:

if you belong to the EAA. Search Thorp arond 1963.

If not there is a hard copy book of them. I couldn't find it in my office, but I'll look in my shop and get the name and number.

I found a few duplicate EAA books while searching that I'll bring to KY Dam for free.
I also have a box of extra prints. Unfortunately we seem to damage the same ones.

Perfect Bob. I was able to locate the articles as you suggested. It appears its a 12 part series. Much appreciated.

looks like John Thorp would vote for the vertical fin. In one article he says, "when the fin is done, you are master of the T-18 project. No other component is harder to make."

That was before he added flaps to the design ... my vote is the flaps.

I think after 27 years , just finishing the aircraft was the most difficult part ! :))
