I have just put in a new panel, and I have flown a few hours with it now. In the last couple of hours, my com radio transmit function started acting up on me. I was very disappointed since I just worked so hard to get that panel/wiring installed. Well, I flew a few more times with my transmit problems, sometimes I was relegated to using my handheld. I tried a few things between flights, and I checked the mic jacks, but I couldn't figure out my intermittent tx issue. On my last flight, the tx function went completely out.

I dove in yesterday and started pulling wires. The problem showed itself pretty quickly. A connection had come loose in the TX line. When I saw it, I realized what had happened. During my installation sessions, I installed the wiring in increments, and tested as I went. I would just barely connect them so I could pull them apart more easily should that wire not pass its test. If it passed its test, I would fully seat the connectors and continue to the next wire.

Well, I forgot I had not secured a connection properly, had moved on to the next wire and buttoned everything up and went flying. These connections vibrated apart during the flights. It was a lessoned learned. That was a poor installation method. I like the "test in increments" method, but I needed a better way to implement that idea.

Good lesson learned. Don't forget the new weight and balance.

I did forget that. thanks. good timing too. The CI is due at the end of this month, so that will be a great time for the W&B.
