That is so true John, God Bless all those that gave all, God Bless those who made it home to tell the stories of the fallen and, God bless those who will be far from home on this Memorial Day trying to make it home to loved ones.......Dan

I was lucky and only count six friends taken too early. I only wish this nation would wake up and realize what it is throwing away.

I had the honor of escorting a group of WWII and Korean war vets to Washington, DC last Tuesday. What a privilege to be among that great generation of Americans. The attitude of those men and women stands in stark contrast to that of the "citizens" of today. May we never forget.

Memorial Day is not saving 30% on that sofa or no money down on that new car . Sil and I watch the PBS Memorial Day concert every year and it really puts into prospective what Memorial Day is really all about . We also watched a segment on the local News about the Memorial Day ceremony aboard the U.S.S. Midway which had a Pearl Harbor survivor as a speaker . This gent had to be in his early 90's and it was clear how much pride he had in his country and fellow shipmates both present and those that never returned .
