Lee, I think Dick got it, the clue is the file name of the photo. Looked it up on Barnstormers and these aircraft are lower priced than the Thorps, who knew. I looks like they are using the Thorp canopy. |

Two planes in one: tube fuselage with sheet metal covering. Used GB canopy back in the day. |

didn't that small vertical stabilizer give them a poor reputation for spin recovery?? It looks very sharp I must say. |

In 2013, 3 friends and I flew our airplanes to the 4-Corners area, visiting Monument Valley and then on to Lake Powell for the night. That Sidewinder was built and flown by a very good friend of mine, and he died in it the next year when the wing spar failed during what was probably an abrupt maneuver to avoid large birds.
