So chances are if you were at the show you probably know why we were taking the wing off 27DW, but for those that weren't, the short story is that after an unfortunate taxiing incident and subsequent prop strike DW got to go home on a trailer.....

Amanda and I would also like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who helped to make this less than ideal situation a little less painful and allowed us to enjoy at least our last few days at the show, especially:
David and Karen Read
Lee and Jamie Walton
Scott Stine
Wendell Green
Eric Smithenry
Steve Hosselton (RV guy but we are working on him)
All the volunteers with EAAs Emergency Aircraft Repair were also very helpful (which happened to include long time T-18er Paul Kerik)

As a side note ... John Thorp designed the T-18 with the intent that the wing be removed for travel back and forth from the airport on a trailer ... the claim was this was a 30 min operation... this was without flaps ... as you can see even with flaps this was easily done in 35 mins ... we have incredibly simple, rugged and fast airplanes guys!! Don’t forget the little things that set us apart!

Derek, thanks for the props! I’d live to see the RV guys rally the way the Thorp crew can!

ah man, sorry to hear that Derek.

I've been out of the loop with house buying, remodeling, moving and planning the wedding that I leave for in 2 days. I'll have to catch up with you guys and hear what all went on this summer. I missed most of it with all the house stuff.
