Hi All, I'm Mike Boyles, I live in Whangamata New Zealand. Built my Thorp over a period of 10 years, it first flew on Saturday 6th October 2007 with test pilot Tony Schischka at the controls. I flew it myself for about 200 Hrs, sold it a few years ago and it's now owned by a syndicate headed by a well respected NZ Flight instructor. The reason for my signing-up with T18.Net is........ I have a set of original newsletters which consists of: -- "Building Testing, and Flying The All-Metal Airplane" Volume 1 November 1986 Revised Edition of T-18 Newsletters (1 through 44) by Luther D. Sunderland. This is a spiral bound copy Sunderland's review and reprint of the first 44 newsletters. -- Original news letters 1 through 79 in a single folder (1 to 12 are a retype by Lu Sunderland). -- Original news letters 80 through 109 in a single folder. These news letters and other info Span a period from 1976 to 1998. I obtained them when I started building my airplane from a Thorp builder called Bob Ryan of Seely Lake Montana. I would hate to see this collection of history and information go to waste. I paid nothing more than the postage to receive them and now offer them to anyone on the forum for the same deal. All together they weigh 5.5kg's (11lb 3oz). Let me know if you are interested. Regards Mike Boyles |

Hi Mike, I am a newby in the Thorp world having just bought N872DD, but it seems that those Newsletters etc, should not go to waste. What is a good guess at the postage or even a UPS rate to get them back to Montana?? DHL seemed have a good rate with the last lot of stuff I got from Oz. Speedbird1. |
