I was at Pricess Auto on the weekend (my new favourite store) and saw these nifty 12V linear actuators. I thought to myself, "Self, these would be perfect for flaps!" They are quite light, strong, nice looking, cheap, compact, and available in a variety of lengths from 2" to 12". Also available is a three position controller, aluminum billet-machined bracket, and wiring harness extension. http://www.princessauto.com/search-prod ... r+actuator DW |

Mucho write ups on these elect flap puppies ! NL articles galore with pics. Not sure if this actuator was used. Tom Hunter did a nice write up, several others also had inputs with their set ups and pics. RB |

Here's one in action ... Bill Williams discovered these a while back. He says there's something even better out there now .. |

Looking at redoing my current electric flap actuator system into a lighter weight installation. With that in mind I recall one of our members had developed a "bracket or fitting" which connected the two flap torque tubes in the mid fuselage area. Tis "bracket or fitting" also permitted the attachment of a small DC linear actuator for flap operation. Can anyone point me to the hidden information that tells the complete story on revised electric flap operation? Regards, Norm npauk@msn.com |
