Hi everyone! Has anyone come up with a good idea for holding open the upper cowl access doors when you are working on the engine?

You must have a Rattray cowl. One guy I know uses a rope to tie the two sides together.

I found a solution from the marine industry:

I use a prop rod similar to what my Stinson 108-3 had. I have tried to upload a picture without success. If you email me at, I will email you a picture.
