how do you secure a throttle quadrant to the airframe? I'm thinking about putting in a throttle quadrant, but the only way I can think of securing it (without drilling holes in the longeron) would be to make some sort of cantilevered connection to the panel.

I thought about doing that, but I wanted to try and not drill any new holes in the airframe. I do like to the look of it though.

I drilled two #10 holes in the longeron. Has worked for 2700 hours.

Two #10 holes in the longeron and a short piece of angle to bolt the quadrant-1300 hours

By the way, you can drill into structural parts of the airframe as long as those holes are properly taken care of. Cleaning, deburring, and riveting would be a proper way to take care of it.
