Just a friendly reminder from Richard Eklund;

Thorp CG Limits are 62.5 to 71.0

The limits from Richard are what John Thorp suggested.

The primary reason for keeping the forward limit at 62.5 is for ground ops forward of 61 and you're more likely to nose-over during runup or heavy braking.

per T-18 Newsletter circa 1967 ...

"Do not get the forward cg ahead of station 61. Most have been aft of STA 62. The limiting consideration is not elevator effectiveness but rather possibility of nosing over on the ground--especially with full tank and no passengers sitting on the ramp with gusts."

I understand that John Thorp set the forward limit at 62.5 to prevent nose over on engine run up.
The CG range is not shown on the plans.
