Good job ! I saw someone change one of those front seals. Quite the operation. Heat the seal in hot water. Lube it up and use a "special spoon" to stretch the seal over the hub into position. The only dance I know is the Funky Chicken ! RB |

Lou; Pics!! I'm close to first flight in N883FF. I see Bruce F has the prop back on his T-18C. Maybe I can get a ride for familiarization. Maybe in a couple of days I'll get the time to finish the condition inspection, and I'll be off! |

Three hours and so far so good. The front seal is leaking and will need to deal with that. |

Hi Lou, I installed my crank seal, it's a cakewalk. Put a sandwich bag over your prop flange, you will find it very slick and the seal just glides over. Put the seal in some hot water from your coffee thermos for a minute and it will be more pliable, it is a very simple process the darn things are just glued in..Dan |

I just went through this. If you have a machined grove in the case you use the one piece seal. If not you use the split type. The one piece seal has a raised part to help keep it in the case. Here is the lycoming SL Jeff
