Post subject:  Throttle and mixture bellcranks

I am planning to install a throttle quadrant. Does anyone have pictures of their installed throttle/mixture bellcranks and any brackets you made to hold the bellcrank. Just trying to get an idea of the easiest method. No sense in reinventing the wheel.

Where is the whodeedo going to be put ? Left Side ? Center ? Right side ? Someone recently posted a diagram and pics of their side mounted fighter pilot set-up ? ???

Go to search and type in throttle quadrant . Bob Highley has pics and you'll find a link to Bill Williams NL write-up . BOOM !

Thank you Rich. I did find a throttle quadrant post with outstanding pictures of the quadrant itself. But what I really want to see, is the bellcranks and how you mounted your bellcranks to the motor.

I used rod ends on all three cables. Look at how the marine installations attach there cable ends. No bellcranks used. Used Teleflex cables made to length

Just like Bill said . I used rod end bearings also with standard ACS push/pull cables threaded on both ends . No bell cranks involved . My quadrant is small enough that it could be "side mounted . " Don't look for my quadrant in any catalog , I made it from a solid block of acrylic and the control levers were also made and bent in a vise . I ended up making one because I couldn't find one small enough . I have Muey Macho Hands ! The quadrant has worked perfectly for over 200 hours ! :o Sorry I don't have and pics of the assembly process . :'(

Les Conwell turned his carb around to negate the need for bellcranks. As my Lycoming engineer buddy said, "The engine doesn't know which way it is going. " Les has flown this configuation over 2000 hours.

Dang, that a good idea about the carb. I also realized that if I will attach the linkage to the quadrant levers above the rotation point of the quadrant levers that I will indeed not need bellcranks. Thanks for all the tips.
