I know everyone has been waiting for my next tech tip and I know how much you all enjoyed my homemade filter holder for cutting open the filter for inspection , so here is my answer for polishing that pesky spinner . I know most probably polish your spinner on the AC and that does a pretty good job , but this Tech Tip is aimed at those of use that have to remove the spinner every 25 hours to re torque the prop bolts on our woody's ( I know that's not PC , but I don't care !) . I use to use my bench mounted buffer wheels to polish up the spinner , but the thought of having it sent across the shop and end up full of dents no longer appeals to me . I recently talked to someone at Sedona that was polishing his spinner on such a beast and it reached Mach 2 before it hit the adjacent wall and he spent the next few hours pounding out the dent . So here is my RB polishing plate to help make your life a little less stressful ....

1. 3/4" piece of pine or MDF . I got a round piece of pine from HD .
2. Trace out the spinner bottom on the pine .
3. Cut to the line , but don't cut the line away .
4. Using a disc sander remove the line .
5. Sent the disc table at the appropriate angle to remove enough material so the spinner fit nicely over the plate .
6. Drill at least undersize holes and tap in 3 rivnuts that are same thread size as your spinner screws.
7. Attach a square bar or tube on the center bottom section of the plate . This will hold it in a bench vise . I used drywall screws .
8. Spray the plate with your choice of paint or clear stuff to protect it from moisture and warping .

You have to remove the spinner to do the required 25 hours , why not put a nice shine on your helmet . Not sure how the dog got in there ?
