I'm very behind my planification today:'(
I work on floatplane 25 minutes from my skunk work,
and I wrench on this Big Bazoo all day long!
Unfortunatly my magic hat has no solution to find new parts.


When I finally come back at the airport late tonight I take my last energy to pull this small parts together.


I have to finish the job on the Beaver tomorow morning, but I hope I clear the job just on time for my lunch break at my T-18 facility!!!!

No big news since last post!

Welding job is excellent and no corrosion too


There is the press I want to use to put my ''A'' frame straight back.


I try with these set up... but... I just pressed.... Nothing


Okay, expert!
What is my mistake?

Well, I have seen it done with chains and a bottle jack. Have you tried putting some dunnage under either side to create a bigger valley?

I used a press very similar to the one you are using and supported the gear leg close to the side frame of the press on each side so I had about 30 inches between supports, then experimented with how much to press past straight so when I let the press off it would rebound to straight. It took about 8 tries till it was straight.

That's right Brian, that gear is like spring steel when it is tempered right, spread the blocks out a little at a time until you can see movement, be carefull. You will have to over bend so it will spring back to the right shape, go at it a little at a time it does take some patience but the end result will be worth it. Dan

I see where you made new aileron push pull tubes. Where did you get your rod ends. I'm building mine now, and need to get get them.

Stabilizer on there way

I have to machine these aluminium rod to make the spar stabilisator end cap.


First skeleton is done and next step is to install both 0.025 skin.


Bigger view about the stab horn.


Everything is install with 3/32 clecos. After that I enlarge to 1/8 or 5/32 as per drawing.


I have to buy 2 more aluminium sheets:
Two 4'X12' 0.025 2024T3.
I cut the two sheets in 4'X8' format for my new center section.
The rest about the cutting is for my last stab skin.(first skin is done)
And the last 4'X4' is for the both trim tab and the new gear fairing.

I have been admiring the large rectangular steel tube often seen on your table in your pictures.
Was wondering if you could comment on the various ways you use it.
