I was able to get the fuel tank installed this week. Next is measure for the fuel lines to the firewall and get the fuel plumbed to the carb.

I started on the baffles 2 weeks ago. I started with the Van's Plans - Left them tall as I thought I might want to make a plenum. Now I just have some trimming to do to make them fit inside the cowl cheek.

Here's the right side of the engine. After seeing Lee's most current posts, I have a better idea how to make the aft wall of the right side.

The trimming of the baffle sections continue. Pretty soon I think I'll be close enough to try putting the cowl sections on and figuring how much flexible stuff I'll be attaching.

Here I used Lee's method of attaching landing lights on the outer most wing rib. the left side is finished except for the covers.

The project is going to have to sit for 7 weeks while I go to training in Dallas. I'd like to find a way to take some parts along, but they are all too big....

Today was spent installing the panel and getting all the associated wiring connected. What a nice feeling to turn the master on, put the fuses in one by on and hear the airplane come to life. We got all the gages to work. Radios light up, and the starter turned the engine.

66WT is that much closer to flying. december 20 was the first engine start for the 0-320 that is mounted on the airplane. It started on the second blade and ran well. All the panel instrumentation gave us very good numbers. EGT/CHT came right up, oil pressure and temps came up and were steady.
Next week I should be able to install all the tail feathers and have the aft end of the airplane done.
The plan is to have the inner wing re skinned and mounted by the end of Jan.
This should keep me on track to have the airplane back in the air by March and then have it at Sun N Fun.

Just wanted to make sure the tail stays down...I'd hate to have to have it pop up and get a prop strike.
