Use a hose clamp, punch two holes and use rivets

I made a four crosses, installed nut plates in place of the rivets, used two hose clamps to secure to two crosses at top and bottom of fairing

My bird has a single pin (similar to a clevis pin) through a hose clamp at the top inside of the gear leg to locate the fairing, the cuffs at the top and bottom hold the fairing in alignment.

The gear has subsequently been cleaned and repainted, it's not that ugly any more I just don't have a more recent photo. ;D

The photo needs to be rotated 90 CCW, the photo on my Linux box is displayed portrait mode which is how it was taken, apparently the encoding is lost when the photo is transferred to the forum.

I search for lower and upper strut cuffs.
Somebody on this Forum try the Vans RV cuffs or has some spares for sale?
I'm open to all offer.

Cheers!

Start with James "Cubes" Grahn at www.thorpcentral.com. He probably has upper cuff, maybe lower too. His fiberglass guy is excellent!

Hi everyone,

My name is Antoine, people call me Tony. I am from Quebec but I now live in Borden, Ontario, as a military. I just bought Thierry's project, and it is with a lot of emotion that he let PVE go. I am gonna try to finish the project and fly it, and also keep you updated, as many of you were probably excited to see this plane fly again. I am not on the same level as Thierry for quality of work, as he is just amazing, but I am gonna do my best to make that T-18 great again!

Thanks

tony
