Is there anybody building or re-building out there in the Northeast/New England states, would be nice to network with you.
Thanks,

Hi Chris,

I'm rebuilding T-18 s/n 79 in Pittsburgh. I bought it from a gentleman here that appears to have taken great care of her.

How about you?

John

Awesome project of such a low serial number bird at that. I am just finishing up my fin and rudder myself, hope to start the horizontal stab soon. Glad to see that Thorps are alive and well in this part of the country. Seems the majority of the activity is elsewhere.
Good luck with your rebuild,
Chris

Hey Chris,
I'm glad to hear that you're working on yours. The more I learn about this aircraft, the more impressed I am with it. What did you like about the design that led to your decision to build it?

The Thorp impressed me because it’s an all metal design from an experienced professional, the fleet has accumulated thousands of hours so no surprises, it’s still supported by suppliers and an active community that is willing to help one another. There are also hundreds of pages of newsletters that describe every conceivable hurdle and how it was overcome. But most importantly the Thorp is a very capable aircraft and a real treat to fly, like no other I have flown. I wish there were more active builders or rebuilders, particularly on the East Coast, hence my original post to network with local builders. Everyone I have met or conversed with has been very supportive and helpful. If you are looking to buy one that’s already flying, it’s a good value, but I personally prefer to build.
