I’m posting this for my friend, Joe Gautier. Joe’s a long-time member of the group and a master builder. Lee - for some reason he isn’t able to log in now... would you help him find out what’s wrong? He’ll have much more info about the airplane to share when he can post on the forum, but I’ll just say that it is a beautiful airplane with some special custom touches. Joe’s also well-known in the EAA community, and not only a superb craftsman, but a respected pilot/test-pilot too. In my opinion, this airplane is a reflection of all this. If you are interested and reply to this post, I believe Joe will see it and can contact you with further information.

Gorgeous, and looks like a wide-body. In LOVE as I am with N118BC, the only way I would even consider letting her go is for a wide-body. Too many people I can't give rides to because of the tight cockpit. Could you let me know how to get hold of Mr. Gautier? You (or he) can email me at phmand -- but @ where, you ask? Something about Google mail...
Thanks in advance!

Philip,

I’ll pass that on to Joe, in case he hasn’t seen it. Hopefully he’ll be able to log on to the forum soon, and provide his preferred contact information, etc.

John, Can you provide me his username or the email he uses for his forum account?

I also have a very hungry potential buyer in my neck of the woods as well.

Just had a nice chat with Joe, and I sent an email to Joe and Lee so perhaps Lee can help him get back into the Forum.
Looks and sounds like a sweet airplane -- doesn't quite fit the bill to entice me to let go of sweet Bravo-Charlie, but someone is gonna be super happy soon, whoever picks up Joe's airplane. Best of luck!

That said, if y'all know if a wide-body project, I would be interested in talking. My dream machine is 118BC two inches wider and with today's avionics (GPS/comm, etc). I could spend $$ on 'BC to upgrade the avionics but that won't make it any wider. My hope is to find a wide-body project and then HIRE one of you talented builders to finish it the way I want it. Oh, and the 180hp with CS prop is awesome in lil' 'BC, what a rocket!

Phillip,
If you're serious about the wide body comment I know of a project available in Iowa.

Hi Ira,

I haven't asked him... I really don't know. I'm surprised he hasn't posted something on here yet. I'm just going to do this for anyone else who's interested also - he's at: n22607 (@America On Line). Hope that doesn't unleash the robo hounds on him! :-\

It's sure nice to hear you're still around... those were good times in Visalia!

Best to you and your family!

I emailed with Joe, his price is 35k. Which in my opinion (sadly) is the going rate for an outstanding Thorp.

Thanks John,

It’s great to hear from you also, hope all is well,
I’ve been testing the waters for another Thorp, preferably a S-18, this stinking virus has caused me to go sideways and outward , I have to blame it on something, the 2 extra inches hopefully will help, want to give a big shoutout to all of my Thorp buddies, it’s been a couple of years now since the 3 Amigos vacated, there may be a possible return, time will tell.

Take care everyone and stay safe.

Rich, got out early on good behavior ( wife)

Good to hear from you, hope all is well.

Hey Cubes, it’s been a while, I’ll let Missy know you say hello.

Looks like I missed out on a great S-18, Joe’s,
If by chance anyone comes along another S model let me know, I’m looking.

Thanks everyone, oh want to say hello to Fraser as well.

Hello lee,

I stand corrected, when I looked at the picture of Joe’s plane that John Evens posted it said Sold, what I saw was that John’s EvensThorp is sold, (brain fart) so I need to get a hold of Joe to see wether it’s still for sale, does anyone have a phone number for Joe.

Thanks
