I wish the seller didn't call it a T-18.

Good point Dan, the original builder made a a lot of work for himself. That airplane is also a good example of why the round back was just a bad idea. Notice how the canopy skirt has to transition from square to the round back and then again the round back has to transition back to the rudder form. Talk about making work for ones self!

No flap hinges ? There is a flap handle...could be a concealed flap hinge ? ??? Much like an airline type flap using rollers ? :o Additional hole cut in the side of the fus. for the gear to retract ? Inside the cockpit you may have your feet resting on the gear tires ? :P

I don't intend any disrespect for the custom design work and the fine workmanship.
But I don't see a T-18 as having any reserves to carry the extra weight.
I very much understand the wide set main gear with oleo; many landings would settle in instead of spring back into the air to be fought to the bouncing bitter end.
I love "Feisty" and have hardly flown our Cessna since we got it. In fact, I think the Cessna will have to go 'on the block' pretty soon due to lack of use.
But the T-18 was built to be light. I'm thinking of ways to take stuff out, not add stuff.
Down & welded for me.

I like to see guys thinking outside of the box! My hangar mate is 14LB some of you will remember the Midget Mustang with retracts and folding wings. Won OSH grand champ twice. I admire the courage it takes to strike out on your own and channel a bit of the DaVinci we all have inside.
