I think that you should acquire this project, you're gonna need something to do after you get 218TH in the air.

Hi all, I got a heads up from Lee Walton that Rick Shoup had contacted Lee on how to market the Thorp that my dad built. I spoke to Rick and due to some medical issues he doesn’t think he’ll be able to reassemble #347. Rick had done some refurb work like install a stainless firewall and add the access panel under the rudder pedals. He also purchased the ‘trusty tailwheel kit’ - yet to be installed. The airplane sports the folding wing and lives on a trailer for easy storage and moving. It’s a O-360 powered, hartzell constant speed propelled Thorp. As much as I would like to bring this family airplane back to flight status, it’s more important for me to complete and fly 218TH in the next few months. I did not talk to Rick as to what value he placed on 45881..but he’s adamant this Thorp should be completed and flying. Rick Shoup can be reached at 681-231-1369 Terry |

Rick did say that Bill Williams had sealed the inner wing section and that combined fuel on board is now 54 gal. |
