I have a Landoll Harmonic Dampener for the 0-320/0-360. It bolts directly to the flywheel, dampens harmonics with a wood prop and adds 9lbs to the nose. 250 hours on it with no worries, like new includes bolts. New cost $400. $125 shipped to your door. For whatever it's worth, I'm not a fan of the harmonic "dampeners". In doing dynamic prop balancing, I find that many times they cause more vibration for a period of time after engine start, before they settle down, and they make balancing a little more problematic. This goes on with every start after an extended shut-down, and I believe it can amount to a lot more wear & tear on mounts, airframe, etc. over the life of an engine. If you have a lightweight wood prop, a simple steel ring bolted to the flywheel, weighing 11 to 13 lbs., does very nicely for adding additional angular momentum, and will probably be less expensive. You'll get smoother/lower idle, and probably pick up a small amount of additional rpm & usable power. Then get the entire assembly dynamically balanced. That's just my experience & opinion, worth exactly what you just paid for it.

I ran my O-360 T-18 with a Warnke prop and a Landoll harmonically balancer for over 25 years. I'm not sure in reduced any vibration but it sure did make the idle at 525 rpm much smoother. A steel ring will do the same at a much lower cost. About 5 years ago a series of small cracks showed up in a curely maple lamination near the hub. I was not overly concerned but watched them carefully. With much regret I removed the Warnke prop and Landoll balancer and replaced the prop witha brand new Sensenich made for the T-18. Everything about the metal prop performance wise is better but if I could, I would still be running the wooden one. I now run the balancer on my Bucker Jungman (180 hp with fuel injection) Steve Hawley |

Dan, I always look forward to seeing your info on the forum. There are disadvantages to being faithful on the forum though! It took years to get the "Go see Cal" ditty out of my head and now it has returned! Most people reading this won't know what I'm talking about but you will. Don't know when I will be back in CA but hopefully soon. Plan on making both S&F and Oshkosh. Maybe will see you at one of those. Steve |

I am planning to go to Airventure, I Sat here in my Chair and plotted my route just this last Sunday evening.
