It's amazing how something so small and cheap can hold a whole aircraft up. I've been trying to get a Driving Washer (Aircraft Spruce Part Number 06-13608) for my Lang D-501 tail-wheel through Aircraft Spruce for the last month but they keep pushing the date back. Does anyone have one of these laying around or know of a place that would have stock of this simple part? It's basically the last part in the very expensive puzzle to finally be able to get my aircraft back in the air after spending nearly 2 and a half months at the maintenance place for what should have been an easy annual inspection.

If anyone can help me out I'd greatly appreciate it.

Thanks all

I am not familiar with the Lang and the diagram on Aircraft Spruce was not much help. Is it a washer that might be found at a good hardware store or some place like Fastenal or Grainger?

Thanks for the suggestions Jeff. Unfortunately from what I can tell it doesn't look like a standard part that is easy to come across at a hardware store or similar due to the cut outs etc.

I see what you mean. I googled "D washer" and came up with some sources but so far nothing with a notch. The notch would be easy to do on a milling machine or lathe if the right size washer could be found.

Cheers for all the help Jeff. I've tried getting in contact with that company about the part since they don't have shipping to Australia but haven't had a reply yet, hence the hunt continues

I've been looking into this further, it looks like Aircraft Spruce has one of the Driving Washers in stock in the Canadian Warehouse but of course they won't ship it to Australia from there. Does anyone know of a shipping forwarding company that works in Canada? So far I've only been able to find ones that work by getting the items sent to an American address which won't work in this situation.

Cheers

If needed, I'll buy the part and ship it to you. For those who don't know, I currently get a 70% discount with FedEx express shipping. I pass that along to you.

If you could help me out like that I would really appreciate it Cubes. I've found it quite hard to actually get a hold of this part so more then happy to cover your time etc as well.

Thanks

Hey if they had more then one in stock I prob would but since I need the part ASAP to get the aircraft flying again after over 2 months and they keep pushing the estimated restock date back there is no point ordering more then one. Can't handle the withdrawal from not being able to fly!

Thanks mate, really appreciate it. It's showing out of stock here for both of the US warehouses but the Canadian one is showing stock when I selected that one. Not sure why I can't be easy...

Just so you know, a fellow Thorper in Canada is going to grab the washer and mail it to me. I'll send it your way when I get it.
