Hi,

Does anyone have one of the old style coleman cooler canopy latches they would part with? The new ones they sell are different than the old style. Would be much easier to replace with same style than redo the whole latch mechanism. Mine is getting worn. If I can't find one, I will tear it apart and try to refurbish or machine some new parts.

Mine is almost the same as this pic. Mine has a slightly different shaped handle but should be interchangeable with the one pictured.

Bernie...I found (2) part numbers 5255-5301 and 5216-5301 for what appears to be your latch ? ??? I had no luck trying Obsolete Coleman parts/Vintage Coleman parts via goggle and ebay . Came up with a dry hole on both numbers . :o If you find two of them I would buy BOTH ! :P

I too tried to locate one of these latches several years ago. No luck.

If you can't find the endangered species thru normal channels then an option may be to buy a "used" Coleman cooler that has the latch and rip it off the cooler and use it ! ??? There was a brand new latch listed on ebay about a year ago , so they do exist . :P

Thanks Rich,
That's probably the only way to find one.

Bernie...this sure looks like the latch ? ??? It is for a standard double hung window draw latch P/N F-2567 sash lock cam action . :o There may be other sites that have the sash lock or a different version of it ? "More Power Mr. Scott !" , "Aye Captain !" :P
