I need to replace the crazed windshield on my Thorp, does anyone

There is a manufacturer in Tipp City ,OH. that, believe it or not has a mold for the windscreen. Jeff and Becky will do a great job. Call them at 937.669.2677.........

I agree. I bought a windscreen and canopy from Jeff and Becky a year ago and
I am very satisfied with the product they supplied.

since 92 I have been using a lexan windshield, I replaced it last year with a slightly tinted version I believe its .090.Its cheap, easy to conform and very hard to break.

You are right, Generous Electric makes a fine product. It's a "liquid" product and that's why you can shoot it. I've always been told that Lexan scratches very easily, what's been your experience?

Yes Bill, it does scratch a little easier but not as much as some might think, care of course should be taken, the real beauty is in the price, ease of use, and availability, and strength. I keep mine clean with new finish car wax.

Guys,

When I worked for GE, they had a sheet product called MarGuard that had a silicone hard coat on it. I think the larger issue with Lexan is that it will yellow given enough time to UV exposure.

I had my last windshield on for at least 15 years with no signs of yellowing, that said, it is hangered and has always been. Lexan has worked for me, I guess there are always trade offs.

Somewhere, there was a posting on plexi vs lexan indicating the crackability of plexi as safety/rescue advantage in a flipover, heaven forbid the need.

Of course the bubble is plexi. and I dont think I would fit through the windshield anyway, do we all carry something to break the glass? I must admit often times I don`t have something handy, now it`s on my to do list, not much else to do here for the last month in the northeast.

Another thing to be aware of with Lexan & polycarbonates in general is that, unlike acrylics, they are harmed by exposure to gasoline - the result is clouding &/or crazing.
