Hello Everyone,

Multiple attempts to order new dual fork assembly from API for N327SB. 10 years and a bunch of landings and we need a whole new assembly. API is not responding to me. Are they out of business? If so, which tailwheel is everyone going to? The Vans dual fork all steel one?

Thanks,
Brent Schultz

man, that is a bummer. I just checked aircraft spruce, and I don't see them there either. Thats where I purchased mine from a couple years ago.

I’m disappointed too. After looking around I like the JDAir ones dual bearings on the vertical axle. They make one that fits the 5/8” tapered rod spring we used. That’s were id go.
I’m in the process of trying to establish an OEM distribution with them.

Hey Cubes,

When you have a distribution deal with JDAir, let us know. I'll buy the wheel setup and tailspring from you to convert my current leaf spring configuration.

No rush for me, as my setup is working fine now.

Thanks!

Peter

Yep. I have four unfilled orders for that setup. Hopefully they respond quickly.

Hi Cubes,

Any news with the tailwheels? I am looking at putting a tapered rod on mine instead of the leaf spring. Flyboy accessories seems to have something that could fit, but I don't want to pull the trigger if there's something more appropriate for the thorp.

Thanks

I have the first welded up example in my possession. As soon as my new well is installed, I plan to head to the hanger to make sure it fits. It looks like it will.
So, here is how this is going to work. A man named Brian Beatty just bought JD Air. He knows all about what we have going. I’ve spoken with him several times. What we plan to do is have everyone order the tail wheel directly from him. I’ll supply everything forward of that. Just specify that it is for a T18. He is in our FB group as well.
The plan is for the go ahead to happen today.

This is perfect timing. I'm wanting to order a setup for mine to ditch the old maule setup as well.
