Yep...I looped the copper primer lines to take the flex. Same idea ?

So for those who have used the NL 19 approach and taken the lines out through the floor. Are there any suggestions for refining the position of the hole in the floor? Based on my reading of the plans i think that the hole in the floor could possibly move forward say to 1" from the fire wall and doing so might bring the brake line out closer to the gear leg making for a very neat and tidy install, while still allowing for sufficient flex in the brake line. |

Guys, When I had my Stinson, I noticed that they had a real neat way to accomodate the flexing required from the master cylinder to the brake line system. The lines were steel with no flex hose. What they did was to coil the steel line in a pattern similar to a spiral stove element. The element length resulted in very little flex per length of line. My plane was a 1948 108-3 model with the original lines with no indication of fatique to date. Very simple, light and effective. Jim Mantyla |
