Has anyone ever used a fairing at the base of the vertical fin and fuselage intersection? If so, did you notice any appreciable speed increase? |

Before I bought 'Feisty', I looked at an S-18 that had such a fairing. It was a triangular leading edge fairing. The front of it just cleared the canopy when it was all the way open. It's rise to the vertical stab was less than 45 degrees. I did not fly the plane. I always thought it was to assist with spin recovery, which the S-18 might be more difficult to recover from? |

If you gained 1 MPH with the fairing it would be a miracle ! I think it is more of an appearance item than a speed item . I have the CSA fiberglass fairing sitting on my shelf...come and get it ! RB |
