Thanks Fraser, ground school is Monday night. I’m not sure were yet, so I’m guessing Mojave. Flying on the 15th.
Looking forward to it, Scott is the flight test engineer on space ship two. It’s going to be an interesting bunch to hang with.
I’m hoping to get a few more SoCal Thorps involved.

I'm sure it will be good. Just remember that there is a lot of technique involved. In other words, don't take everything as gospel

Cubes : Did you ever do any IFR Formation ? I had a chance to do about 30 minutes in an A-7 as a "student" as we ran into IFR from a low level route . I was Solo and the Instructor told me to stay on his wing . Stay on his wing I did ! :o OH MY !

Oh yeah. That's what it was for! We did it whenever we hit IFR. The worst is at FL 410 in a T storm.

Amen! Been there, done that. Inadvertent night IFR refueling also ups the pucker factor. Ever notice that eject seat cushions are hard? That's so they don't get sucked so far up your anal orifice at times like that.

That's right Bob. The hardest airplane I ever refueled was the F4. Very pitch sensitive! The Eagle was easy once you realize you cannot be on centerline. The F16 was cake as was the B1

So now I know what go to meeting means. There were twelve guys in the class one other with a Thorp but I don’t know who it was. We went over the same stuff that cubes briefed: Briefings, Bearing line, formations, rout, crossunder, pitchouts, rejoins, To&L’s, extended trail, and safety. So it sounds like I’ve got to collect some gear to fly with these guys.

If you need to borrow my formation breifing decoder ring and information firehose flow restrictor, let me know....I'll also send my official formation 3 blade propeller beanie with wing proximity sensors. That should be all you need for your first few sorties.

Don't forget the "multi colored" seat cushion that can hide multiple stains ! ::)
