I test fitted my plane with a throttle quadrant mounted on the longeron above my left knee. It was ok, but seemed to protrude into my "open space" more than I would have liked. Would those with throttle quadrants post a picture so I can compare your mounting setup? The bottom of my quadrant basically rubbed the top of my left knee. I couldn't help but think that I hard/forced landing might tear up my knee on the quadrant. I guess there are risk/reward decisions on all installations.

Any standard quadrant is probably way too big. Most of us made our own smaller quadrant. I think Bill Williams posted some plans to the newsletter a few years back.

Here are couple of pix of my throttle quadrant:

The knobs "stack" About 1 1/2" between centers. Length of lower levers matches what the movement is on the engine.

Image

Nut plate shown on the back side is designed to float and is connected to the friction knob.

Looks like a Thorp quadrant. I put a small PTT switch in the throttle handle. Works great when you are on the throttle.
