To me, it looks like an RV 6 not a Thorp. If it is a Throp it's a highly modified version, it has a horizontal stabilizer and elevator instead of a stabilator, a rounded turtle deck, RV wheel pants and the rudder is different. Just my opinion I could be wrong. |

Definitely an RV, and it doesn't look at all like a Thorp wing. OK... I just saw the previous post - RV-7. |

Here is a vid with a frontal view of the ditching. The damage on the port wing is pretty bad and makes it look a little cranked from the side. He was definitely the "other" plane in the mid air.
