I think my GA35 antenna is on the fritz. Before I break open my dusty old wallet, I was hoping to borrow a GA35 antenna to make sure that was my problem. If you have one I could borrow, I would appreciate it. FYI, my G400W will not acquire a signal now, and some of my other GPS based avionics are losing their GPS signals too. My internet research tells me this is a sign of a dying/dead GA35 antenna. |

I’d check the coax first though. |

good idea. I'll check my coax and report back and we can go from there. Thanks for the help. |

Corrosion at the connections is usually the culprit. Seat the bnc's a couple times. I have to do that with my IFF connections every so often. |

Any chance you are using a portable adsb receiver when problems occur? |

I reconnected to fittings several times now. Now I need to go for another test flight. I do use a Skyradar which is portable. Nothing has been installed or changed (including the Skyradar) prior to my 400W and other GPS avionics going wacky. The Skyradar GPS position is one of the items which cant lock on to a position now. Removing power from the Skyradar is on my list of things to try next flight. I even read the NASA research regarding cell phones creating interference with GPS systems, so I'll try turning my phone off too....although I've been flying for years with my phone on. I guess the ultimate test will be to turn off the 400W in flight and see if my other GPS avionics come back online and start working again. |

My semi permanently mounted Stratus3 knocks out reception for an old handheld gps that uses an external antenna. A soon as I turn it off, the old gps rx works fine. The 12 volt to 5 volt usb power adapters may also have a small effect. |

I flew for 1.5 hours today with my 400W turned off. All my other avionics performed perfectly. I'm leaning more and more towards the 400 antenna. |

It is probably the antenna, I had to replace mine about a year ago, it was junk..... |
